God moments. My two favorite words together. How wonderful is it to be going through a tough time and then at the bottom, you hear God. Or God bring someone to you. He answers your prayers. Every God moment sends chills down by back and tears in my eyes.
I sometimes wonder how God gets his humor. And I think it is through these God moments. For example, as a lot of you know I live in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. Population: 8 people my age. And I work with 5 of them. There are definitely times of loneliness. Many times have I prayed and prayed for a Bible study (and God has answered). Many times have I prayed for a relationship (which he also gave me to answer my prayers and then showed me how very wrong those relationships were). And many times I have prayed for my friends and family to be closer (which he answers by bringing my friends and family to me). And yet recently I was lonely. I go to church every Sunday by myself and for whatever reason this particular Sunday was difficult for me. All I wanted in that moment was someone to be at church with me. Someone I can praise with and pray with. So at church we sang our first song of worship and here I was having my pity party, instead of enjoying the time I got to spend praising God. After the first song we have our greetings and announcements. And during that time I gave myself an even greater pity party because everyone around me had someone to talk to. But then God started laughing at me. (I feel like he does that a lot with my thoughts.) The very next song of worship was one I had never heard before and the chorus went like this
"You are not alone, God is always with you."
Talk about a major wake up call. I don't need someone to go to church with me. God is the number one reason I am there. He is the one I worship to and pray to. Not my friends or acquaintances.
I encourage you to keep an eye out for those God moments. Oh how they are so great and wonderful. God knows what he's doing...trust in Him.
God Bless.
